Scripture – John 12: 20-26 (NIV)
20 Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival. 21 They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. “Sir,” they said, “we would like to see Jesus.” 22 Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus.
23 Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25 Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
We Would See Jesus

Commentators have different ideas about why the Greeks mentioned in this passage were there. But we can all agree on the fact that they were in Jerusalem at Passover time, and that they had heard about Jesus, and we read that they wanted to see him. The city was crowded with Passover throngs, but they found Philip. How good that he was approachable!
As on earlier occasions, Philip went first to Andrew. It is often comforting to find a trusted companion. Andrew and Philip both came from Bethsaida and had probably known each other for years. With the assurance of old companions, they brought the seekers to Jesus. They did not hesitate. There was no intermediate step.
It is the greatest privilege in the life of any disciple that a seeker might them ask for an introduction to Jesus. Pray God that we may be approachable and then quick to take the seeker right into his presence.
Let’s Look at Jesus
Salvation Army Songbook #439
1.
There is a message, a simple message,
And it’s a message for us all;
There is a Savior, and what a Savior!
There is a Savior for us all.
Let’s look at Jesus, for He’s the Savior,
And He will answer when we call;
Let’s look at Jesus, for He’s the Savior,
Yes, He’s the Savior for us all.
2.
If you want pardon, then ask for pardon,
And God’s own pardon shall be yours;
For those who seek Him are sure to find Him,
And none who seek Him Christ ignores.
3.
Though you have failed Him,
And how you’ve failed Him!
Though you have failed Him, God loves you;
The proof is Jesus, so look at Jesus,
And learn from Jesus, God loves you.
